You can help us create a brighter future for Illinoisans with disabilities.  In fact, we know that UCP of Illinois cannot do this alone and that’s why we partner with local affiliates and welcome your support.

Below we’ve provided you with four ways that you can get involved today.

First, be sure to sign up to receive our News & Policy Alerts. 

When you sign up, we’ll add you to our list of concerned citizens who want to receive the latest news as well as information about legislation or administrative decisions that will impact persons with disabilities.
 

Then, get involved.  Write to your legislators.  Show support for disability providers in your communities.  There’s strength in numbers and your voice can make a difference.

Secondly, help us identify the disability resources in your community.

As hard as we try, we aren’t always aware of what local communities have done to respond to the disability needs of their residents.  We are especially concerned about the 41 counties in Illinois that are uncovered by a local UCP affiliate. 

If you are aware of a provider, program or source of support that is not listed in our Resources section, please send us that info via email at ucpil@sbcglobal.net. 

Thirdly, volunteer to assist with UCP’s efforts in your community.

If your community is served by a local affiliate, contact them directly about local volunteer opportunities.

If you reside in any of the following metropolitan areas, UCP of Illinois could use your help: 
Quad Cities, Rock Island, Peoria, Bloomington/Normal or East St. Louis.

We are specifically looking for people and organizations who can assist us with:

§disseminating educational information to local groups;

§ hosting or spreading the word about family support group meetings; or

§ identifying local opportunities for the airing of public service announcements.  

Finally, we urge you to make a donation to your local UCP Affiliate.

Our affiliates are doing amazing things to benefit children and adults with disabilities across the state of Illinois and their programs depend on financial support from people just like you.
